FBI can recover deleted emails from numerous servers and go through over 30,000 emails and determine whether they were classified or not and the IRS can't find and send any of Director Lerner's emails?! What does it say about the IRS, is it totally incompetent?! If they can't handle a simple task like that then why should they be entrusted with collecting and handling taxpayers' money!!!

You should call the IRS during off peak hours and days. If you can't sit on the phone and take at least one hour you should not be doing this. Do not call the IRS from work. You need a lot of time and patience. You can always ask your tax professional to help you.

one star is too much...on hold forever and then no one can help. I was actually told that they didn't have anyone who could help me because of budget cuts. They told me to call my congressman. In the meantime, I am just supposed to send a check for $700 without getting my questions answered.

I think the IRS needs to investigate the latest rash of extremely threatening phone calls from someone posing as an IRS officer, threatening the recipient with jail if they don't return the call. I received one this morning from a Florida number 407-743-6440. There are people who don't know that the IRS doesn't make this kind of phone call, will fall for this frightening scheme, and wind up being intimidated into sending money to these thieves. PLEASE DO SOMETHING!

I have tried calling all week. I received a bill for an amount I already paid. I have a receipt for the payment. Yet today your bullshit automated system said I had a 15-30 minute wait after an hour and twenty-four minutes it then said I had a 30-60 minute wait. This has went on all week. I have spent over 4 hours in a day on hold with you guys only to be hung up on. What do I have to do to get a damn human on the phone within a 4 hour period? Do I need to hire an attorney just to prove I already paid my bill? I am at a loss... read more
