Forever grateful that we came here for help! We met with Nickie (who is incredible) twice and I can honestly say she is the reason I am still breastfeeding. It was always informative and encouraging to meet with her. I know everyone’s breastfeeding experience is different, but I would recommend everyone at least try to meet with a lactation specialist at the Orem Clinic!
I was here 5 years ago, and while that might seem irrelevant to put a review now, there's a very specific reason I'm coming back 5 years later to leave a review. I went to 2 lactation consultants, an OBGYN, and a general practitioner before finally being heard by the general practitioner when I expressed the troubles I was having with breastfeeding my baby. I was struggling with my baby latching and having to use the nipple shield all the time. I was trying once a day to go shield less, but felt bad for my baby struggling through that feeding. Jan here was so helpful! She gave me tips that I would’ve had no thought to do! I would’ve had no idea I had an over supply and my milk was shooting like a water hose!! My visit was not helpful at all. The woman who I had my visit with seemed not interested in helping me with my concerns. It seemed like she was focused on just checking boxes on a list and not actually helping me for my specific needs. I would recommend you save your time and find a lactation consultant who actually cares.
