This review is a request for a policy/procedure change. I called to make a mental health appt with Dr Downs and was told I need an appt with my Primary Care dr first. I know from experience that the primary care dr will listen and instruct me to make an appt with Mental Health since they cant diagnose. So why not just let me see Dr. Downs in the first place? I am writing to formally express my frustration with what occurred at Intermountain Healthcare's North Orem clinic and with the broader operational failures that are undermining the patient-provider relationship. First, I want to be unequivocally clear: Dr. Pratte is a phenomenal physician. He has consistently provided excellent care, and this complaint is not directed at him.
