Coffee is fine. The barista didn’t ask if I wanted it to go but made it in a paper cup anyway. When I expressed disappointment, he poured 2/3 of it in a glass cup and handed it to me. When I still looked disappointed he seemed frustrated and asked if I wanted him to remake it. I hated the coffee to go to waste (along with the disposable cup that was already wasted) so I said no, but I had to ask again for the other third of my drink, and my coffee has a papery taste. If you’re looking to waste fifteen minutes of your life watching everyone else get their drinks while the staff pretends you don't exist, Intelligentsia is the spot for you. I came in with two people who got their orders almost immediately. Meanwhile, I stood there for over 10 minutes waiting for a Smoked Maple Latte that they clearly had no intention of actually making. Best coffee downtown. I have tried a few others and always come back. The lobby atmosphere is very calming.
Who went here and didn’t give it five stars? Crazy. This is the best coffee shop I’ve ever been to. Had a pour over geisha coffee. It was so interesting tasting. A very special cup. People were so nice there.
