Worst experience of my life in a hospital. I went there in a very high state of crisis and I was told as I was checked in that there were all kinds of resources to help me. I checked in on a Friday late afternoon. The doctor on the weekend also told me there were lots of resources to help me move forward with my situation. Come Monday morning the doctor at that time said sorry but we don't have any resources sorry you were told otherwise. The way the mental health unit treated my mother in a stage of crisis is absolutely disgusting she got into a verbal altercation with a staff member and was told they would call the police on her. She was told she was given an option to go to a rehab facility when she declined going all the way to North Jersey it became an even bigger issue they wouldn’t even try to find her a different facility closer to home. Worst experience of my life. First day I went in it's confusing you have to knock on a window to ask for things and half the time they ignore you. They force feed you medication even if you request not to have it even if in the past you had a reaction to it. Rooms are loud at night people walking around shirtless and shoes screeching. on my first day I had a guy who held a piece of paper up to his wrist pretending to SH and I reported him to a staff member and he still kept doing it the rest of my time there.
