Remember eating a meal with about 15 other patients, and we were served very large portions. On top of all the food, we were given nutritional supplement drinks and were told we couldn't go to the next educational session until we finished everything. Forcing people to eat more until their stomach hurts and then they feel sick isn't the way to go. This "recovery center" caused me more trauma and harm
I was treated at ERC twice in Oak Brook in 2022 and 2023, and I have encountered some of the most understanding and helpful professionals. My peers were kind and supportive, and I was assigned to an incredible dietician, therapist, and psychiatrist. The programs were helpful as well.
Our family benefited from the multi-disciplinary team of experts at ERC-OB 12/2024-3/2025. The clinical guidance (Dr. Aldridge , Safia-ANP, Allison-LCPC, Jenna-LCPC ,Tieara RD , Panina RD) parental support groups (Beth Ayn , Katie) and resources , communication via phone, email and paper, referrals to outpatient support team members (Shannon &Sarah) , educational support with Dr. Rachel and most of all compassion throughout were a few of the many aspects we were so grateful to be on the receiving end of.
