Tried to get my dad seen ASAP after he was diagnosed with larynx cancer. Instead the Schar employees kept transferring me to unhelpful, non-responsive, and aggressive people. I ended up quickly getting a next day appointment with an interdisciplinary team at Johns Hopkins instead. Yes, he has to travel an hour from NoVA up to Baltimore, but none of the employees at the Hopkins Head and Neck Tumor Center are as unempathetic and incompetent as everyone we spoke to at the Schar Center.
Super modern, terrific staff all over. I am walking my cancer journey here and I cannot say enough positive remarks about the entire center!
Mrs. Sandra Brown was wonderful in helping my father schedule his appointments as a new patient. She was kind, patient, and very willing to assist us every step of the way. Her professionalism and genuine care made the process smooth and stress-free. We truly appreciate her kindness and excellent service!
Extremely rude and demeaning office staff. If this is how the first point of contact treats patients; I'm certainly not impressed! Will be going to Charlottesville for treatment!
I came to this facility as a stage IV patient, desperately seeking treatment after being denied scans several years in a row. I had hoped this center would be more aggressive as far as treatment was concerned. They weren’t. They were unorganized. I rarely heard from oncologist. Prescriptions were delayed or arrived damaged. The facility itself is old and dated. Does not have door openers on many of the doors. Would not recommend.
