Schools like this are exactly what is wrong with university education. For instance, their intro Sociology class uses only one textbook which asserts that capitalism is bad and American exceptionalism has racist overtones. There are similar stories on this campus where alternative viewpoints are not being allowed, such as refusing to address the positive aspects of capitalism. This is not "higher education," this is an echo-chamber.
Leftist propaganda being taught. There is a steady decline in American education and this university is a prime example of why.
I have a 7-year-old daughter who I'm raising to be a strong, independent woman. As such, I will make sure in the coming years to educate her on IPFW and to steer her AWAY from ever making the choice to attend here. Cutting programs that are obviously wanted and important is a huge mistake on your part, and I would never encourage someone to attend a university that doesn't find women's studies to be of worth.
How about investing in parking. You can literally arrive 20 minutes before class and not find parking. Why would you put two parking garages on one side of campus and a tiny lot on the other side.
I have found IPFW to be a very supportive environment as I seek my degree. The staff is always willing to help and the environment is very diverse. I am a 59 year old woman starting college after approximately 40 years since my high school graduation and through my efforts and the support of IPFW I am in my entering my senior year and on at least honor roll but also deans list! Thank you IPFW!
