This has been the most horrific experience ever. Independent bought out our bank (Guarantee Bank - which was awesome). On the day of the switch over EVERY SINGLE card we have is associated with the incorrect account numbers (four separate accounts - savings and checking). Not able to access my funds in ANY account. Only one contact phone number for the bank actually worked and the response was “we sent in an account maintenance request - maybe try in 24 hours” I guess I’ve learned my lesson - never let one institution manage... read more
Taking all my money out tomorrow. I had been with home state bank before they were bought by guaranty bank, and after that merger my home state debit card still worked, and my account was the same. Now that independent bank took over my debit card stopped working, so I don't have car insurance, since I can't exactly go into esurance's imaginary office and pay in cash. I got to find out about this by having my guaranty card declined at a liquor store, which looks Trashy. On top of that my account simply wouldn't let me overdr... read more

Absolutely one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in banking. After acquiring a guarantee bank they decided to cancel all my cards and made for a wonderful day when I went grocery shopping after depositing my entire paycheck into my account that I can no longer access. I will be pulling all of my money out of this bank tomorrow. I cannot recommend this bank to any consumer or anybody looking to open up a new account if I could give negative five stars I would.
It may be time to find a new bank. No notice that my bank card would be canceled until it was declined trying to buy gas and groceries. Called the number on my card and find out that they also had missed ordering me a new card like they had supposedly done automatically for their customers and I would have one in 7-10 days. Well that hasn't happened yet either.
