Been going here now for about 4 or 5 years. I drive uber/lyft in Anchorage a lot, and so of course, the car is in the shop at least double the rate (if not more) than if I didn't. The transmission on my subaru went out, and within a couple weeks, they had a used one in its place for $5K, along with a 101-day warranty. Day 27 that transmission failed. Honest. Reliable. Efficient. I’ve taken several Subarus to Independent Auto over the years. I am very fortunate to know an honest mechanic. When my Subaru hit 100k I brought it in and said to do whatever needed to be done to keep it healthy. They could have easily charged me thousands for all kinds of things. The folks there were Great! No nonsense and gave straight up answers and helped save me $.
I was quoted three times what other places have quoted for same job.
Horrible place, price gouge to do a fuel injector charge $275 for an hr job is ridiculous. Would not recommend.
