I visited IVOMS as a returning patient for implant placement in my two lateral incisors on the top in May 2017. Dr. James Vaiana placed both implants and things seemed fine for awhile, before I realized one had failed in early 2018. I had to get a third opinion before I was made aware of the fact the implant had been placed directly against my front tooth, causing substantial bone loss that risked me losing the rest of my front teeth at 22 years old. They were very nice and got me in early. BUT the dentist shot me up with too much anesthesia. My mouth is sore, and my lips are swollen, and it's been like this for the last 2 months. I went in on the 13th and had to go back on the 24th to look at my mouth he said everything would be okay. I called and left a message. No one responded, but I'm still having this problem with swollen mouths and burning around lips and mouth. I've tried everything possible but no relief at all. Upon arrival, payment in full was required BEFORE procedure. I was not allowed to accompany minor patient for procedure. During procedure Novocain was administered and was painful. Patient was crying and assistants were laughing. Patient stated there was still pain and Dr. continued. Patient was upset and not prepared over bloodied gauze and assistants were laughing again. NO follow up call even though the minor patient left in pain and in tears. Dr. Vaiana and staff showed no empathy for the patient.
