The hospital, Northwestern, called IMC Illinois Medi-Car without my knowledge, and it turned out that their service is not covered by Medicare. They sent the bill to none existing address and reported me to a collection agency soon after. I spent hours on the phone with them to fix my current address, and I was told that they will remove me from collection. I paid the bill, but they never bothered to remove me! What a mess! Worst service ever! Used for transport from Good Shepherd Hospital to Marionjoy Hospital on 3/26/24. Driver couldn’t find his way out of the hospital and when he finally found his way after asking for help, he left me outside without a coat in the 30 degree temperature. Once in the cold van I asked for a blanket and none available. It took a very long time to heat up as this was basically a cargo van. I was super impressed with the service that I received from Medi-car. The young man that pickup me up was extremely nice, patient, compassionate, caring, attentive, and kind. After having minor surgery I needed a ride home from the hospital. St. Joseph Amita hospital suggested medi-car. Scheduling the appointment was very easy and the operator was helpful. This was the 1st time I used Illinois Medi-Car and I was very satisfied. When I called to make the reservation, the representative was very nice and efficient and confirmed the price which I thought was reasonable. By the way, I don’t believe all of the negative reviews. I’m sure some of their competitors have written these negative complaints. The driver was great. The van was like from the Flintstones era, super old, not comfortable, just bad. Then on top of it my trip was 4.1 miles according to Google and of course they round UP to 5 miles so they get more money
