Located in the vicinity of Museum Mile, this small Italian eatery serves hearty authentic fare. The restaurant exudes a warm vibe with its yellow painted walls which are adorned with traditional Italian knickknacks and pictures of Italy's triumph at the 2006 World Cup. Pasta dishes like Conchiglitte con punte di asparagi (shell pasta with asparagus tips) and Paccheri di Gragnano al Ketel-one (rigatoni with vodka sauce and prosciutto) are served in portions which are big enough for two. The desserts at Il Riccio change daily ... read more

Il Riccio is a fantastic treat I love Il Riccio; it is my favorite Italian restaurant in Manhattan. Their pasta dishes are different and delicious (the bucatini is a great dish, and the ravioli in saffron sauce is aromatic and a nice change from the sauce norm). I have been here half a dozen times with various people, and we've never had a bad meal. People I have been with have also tried chicken dishes with success. The atmosphere is warm and cozy without being cramped, and it is quiet enough to hear people talk. The waiter... read more
Horrendous Service, Boring Food – I recently booked a late lunch here for a Sunday afternoon for 11 people. The staff shoved the whole party into one table and then was so incredibly rude when we asked to have more room. They acted like we were intruding on an invite only VIP space and that the place was about to fill up with people. The funniest thing was -- we were there for at least two hours and THE PLACE REMAINED EMPTY. So ridiculous. Oh, and to top it off, the food was not even very good.
Editorial Review – Sample a wide variety of delicious Italian offerings from the Amalfi Coast at this elegant Italian restaurant in New York City.
Great Food, Good Service – I ate here for lunch Saturday afternoon. The place looks a bit small, but it actually has a "garden"-like area, which was really cute. I ordered the Linguine w/ White Clam Sauce & it was delicious. My cousin ordered the Penne alla Vodka & the pasta looked as if it were freshly made. She thoroughly enjoyed her meal as did I. The service was good & they did not rush us. I enjoyed my meal here & would definitely come back again.
WORLD CHAMPIONS – Il Riccio is almost 8 years old but the food, service, and the spotless bathrooms looks like they just open... the dining room is filled everynite with celebrity like mayor bloomberg, robert de niro, matt dillon and famous newscaster and trendsetter like eva von fustenberg. the food reflect the fresh and lively charm of south of italy particulary Sorrento and bari, were the owners are from. the wine list is well balance with particular attention to super tuscans. i must try is the rear garden, i suggest earl... read more
molto bene – Dining at il riccio was the one of the best out-of-the room activities my wife and I had on our short Honeymoon in the Capital Town Of The World. We were lucky to found this restaurant close to our hotel. We did not have a lot of time to search around. But what we found was amazing. Nice, cozy, and romantic place with very friendly vibe. We got table on the second floor next to window. Great table. Waiter who took care of us was on the ball. Easy going and not pretentious. We left up to him to decide our diner a... read more
Era Buona. – A friend recently recommended Il Riccio, and I really enjoyed it! The staff is very friendly. There is a wonderful wine list. The food is simply prepared with fresh foods-- very flavorful. I had stuffed Zucchini Flowers (a special) and Linguine with Clams. It is the closest to being in Amalfi without being there!
