I treated myself to this Ikebana; Moribana style class as a little birthday gift to myself, and I honestly had the most magical time. Junko was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and full of warmth. Our time together was full of laughter, engaging conversation, and a sense of calm that made the experience even more special. I learned so much and left feeling both inspired and deeply grateful for this beautiful art form. While visiting New York, my fiancé and I decided to take Junko’s ikebana class to learn a new style for arranging flowers. Even though our class was only an hour long, the information and guidance we received from Junko will stay with us for a lifetime. The simplicity and intentional placement of each bloom is a technique that I seldomly apply when creating arrangements, so having her reassurance that sometimes less is more was just what I needed to see the beauty in ikebana flower arrangements. I had the best experience at Ikebana Flower! Junko is a great teacher and the sweetest person. You learn the history of various styles of Ikebana, spend time learning how to make your own arrangement (with Junko’s guidance), and bring something beautiful back to your home! I took Intro to Japanese Floral Design and then came back for Comprehensive Floral Foundations: Eastern and Western Flower Arrangement too.
