Dr Seemungal has gone above and beyond to help my Dad obtain IV treatment for an infection. And I know he did this while accommodating an already full clinic schedule and hospital cover.

I was recommended to Seemungal by my Gastro Dr. He was supposed to be the best, I kept getting C-Diff. I had just gotten off of antibiotics so the test came back negative. He sent me to see doctors for "Lupus", arthritis and other I.E. Diseases. I didn't have any of those issues. One week later, C-Diff came back again, I found a different I.E. and reported Seemungal to the Arlington Hospital Administrator. I saw Dr Seemungal as the VHC Infectious disease doctor that was brought in due to an infection after surgery. He seemed knowledgeable and professional, but I am not sure he communicated well with my surgeon to co-ordinate care. After discharge to follow up, I called his office and left several messages before he called back to say what was known so far. when he said that noticing trends in infection markers was important, I asked him to order monthly tests to determine the infection's status. I saw Dr Seemungal as the VHC Infectious disease doctor that was brought in due to an infection after surgery. He seemed knowledgeable and professional, and communicated well with my surgeon to co-ordinate care. He called me at home after discharge to follow up, explain what was known so far, and to order tests to determine the infection's status. I have only dealt with him as part of my hospital team, but have been impressed with his attitude and concern following up and explaining the situation to me.

My experience with Dr. Seemungal was vastly disappointing. My appointment with him was rushed, awkward, and borderline combative. At times it felt like a pharmaceutical sales pitch. Sadly I had very high expectations meeting him for my first consultation and was consequently severely let down. I’ve never been the type to “shop around” for the right doctor, but unfortunately I must now. I also now understand my health is a business and my business is going somewhere else.
