I was referred to Dr. Darcel shortly after moving to Canada ~1990, and he thanked my Family Doctor for sending him such an interesting case. (I had been declared a 'medical miracle' in 1977 after a colossal motorcycle accident left me with a dissected aorta and ruptured aortic valve, which took a 14-hour open-heart surgery to fix; and then had the prosthetic valve replaced 11 years later.)
