We contacted Ms. Reevas looking for a Gottmann trained therapist. When we did, we explicitly explained our previous struggles with marriage counseling (ie: telling I stories, blaming, ect.). She assured us Gottmann therapy didn’t allow for such dynamics to take place. After intake, she told us we “weren’t ready for Gottmann” and that we would need to take baby steps to get to Gottmann (that isn’t part of Gottmann as I’ve learned from talking to the Gottmann institute).
