We had a fantastic happy hour experience at Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse in Sarasota! The bar area is beautiful and the decor is elegant. We enjoyed some delicious cocktails and tasty appetizers. The tuna wontons and carpaccio were great, and the cosmopolitan and Bee Gees cocktails were a 5 out of 5. The service was excellent, and the friendly staff went out of their way to help us celebrate a birthday with a complimentary crème brûlée. So this was my first time dining here. My companions said the food is usually divine, but it must have been the chef’s night off. I was really unhappy with the quality of my food for the premium price. IMO, a $75 steak should be a freaking work of art. My medium-rare bone-in ribeye was tough, tasteless, and so dry that saturation with butter had no effect. I have cooked hundreds of steaks and have never had a medium-rare ribeye turn out like this.
