Beautiful Hotel, but Disappointing Service The hotel has excellent facilities, very spacious rooms with high ceilings, and beautiful architecture. Unfortunately, my experience was overshadowed by some serious service issues. During my five-day stay, the internet was not working, and despite reporting the problem, the hotel staff failed to provide a solution. I traveled from Baltimore, Maryland, and stayed at Hyatt Place St Paul Downtown from September 10–12, 2026. Although it was a short stay, I experienced several significant problems involving room maintenance, cleanliness, customer service, and billing. I want to recognize the blonde front desk associate, the valet attendant, the maintenance employee, and the engineering chief. They were pleasant and helpful, and I appreciated their efforts. It wasn’t the worst Hyatt we’ve stayed at. Neat building but entering after hours seemed challenging to some as folks tried to open a closed door instead of seeing the buzzer to ring. The room was fine though the curtains wouldn’t close and open all the way, the bedding was kind of scratchy, and the HVAC system was making some real weird noises. Maybe a different room would be better so we’d be back to try again. It’s a solid location with easy ride share pick up or walkability to nearby venues, restaurants and shops.
