Hyatt Place is a great place to stay. Perfect location, great service and decent rooms. I enjoyed stay on the 8th floor.
WARNING - Hyatt's breakfast is not continental!!!!! The breakfast is marginal at best. It is set up as a continental, self-serve breakfast I.e. make your own waffle, yogurt from a large bowl with toppings, artificial scrambled eggs, etc. The deceptive part is they ask for your room number. I thought this was odd so I went to the front desk only to find out they charge $11.00 per person. There is no signage at the front desk or at the breakfast area! Shame on Hyatt - purposely deceptive to make money!
Got into town late night and Amanda at the front desk really took great care of me. Warm welcome without being too chatty for a late night. Highly recommend.
Arrived at the Hyatt and went to book a room with a king bed. We ended up upgrading to the King Suite on the corner with a panoramic view. It is a very beautiful room. The hotel is right in the heart of downtown Champaign with lots of things to do right around you, and within walking distance. We had a problem with the thermostat because it wouldn’t stop blowing cold air and the heat wouldn’t kick on. This became obvious when waking up cold at 4am.
