Never, ever, ever rent from these people. I disregarded the reviews because the man I met with seemed fine enough. Big mistake--after a year and a half renting from them I can confirm these people are peak scumlords.

I never got my deposit back when I didn't end up renting a place from this guy after he said he wanted to rent to me. Also, the property looked awful.

Mr. Mattoon is the textbook definition of a slumlord. We were great tenants who payed rent on time, and took pride in where we lived making small improvements to the home throughout our 2 years living there. When we got the key to move in the house was filthy and you could see where every picture had hung on the wall obviously the last tenant was a heavy smoker. There was no cleaning or preparation done for us as new tenants, however he was kind enough to let me paint the interior walls myself which I thought was laughable b... read more
