Hunterdon Hospice was incredible. My dad had a stroke and we brough him home on hospice. They had everything set up- hospital bed, oxygen, suction. Sharon, the admitting nurse spent 5 hours with us teaching us how to use the equipment, change wound dressings, you name it. She was so thorough and stayed hours beyond the end of her shift. My husband was a hospice patient with Hunterdon Hospice. When I made the call to see if they would "accept" him due to his trach collar, PEG and Foley catheter, I thought surely they would say that he needed to be in a nursing home, instead, they said two words, "Of course". My adult sons and I were able to bring him home! Being in his own home with us meant the world. Within just a few hours they had everything set up in our home, and there was a lot needed. I called Hunterdon Hospice at 6:00 pm on a Monday night. By 9:00 pm that same evening, my mother was admitted into the care of Hunterdon Hospice. Early the next morning, supplies were delivered, including a hospital bed. For the next two weeks, her every need was attended to by a wonderful staff of caring nurses and aides.
