Have been eating at Hunan Star for over 20 years. Starting back in 1995 when I took a job in La Plata. Was a little "hole-in-the-wall" back then, but popular. It has since been expanded and refurbished, and a buffet was added. The owners are always welcoming and remember us by name. Definitively, a community institution. They now offer ordering online through their website. Love the flexibility of making detailed changes to dishes, such as "mild sauce," "no oil," change vegetables and add meat, to name a few.
Spare ribs very over cooked. It was just ok. Not a restaurant I would go back to.
Ordered lunch from them while at work and the chicken in 4 of our meals was not fully cooked. They refused to acknowledge it unless the food was brought back. It had been thrown out. Sad to say they ruined the relationship.
The lunch buffet is affordable and great for kids who don't know what they like yet. Choices of soups and appetizers along with entrees, also ice cream or healthy dessert such as fruit. They have prices for children from 3-5 6-8 and then adult. All under 6.95. Staff is amazing and great with large groups
Always are more than nice to their customers, and the food is also great! Every time I come in they greet me with a smile and know my order by heart! Nice to have a place that knows and cares about their customers!
My bf and my fav chinese in So. MD. He refuses to eat sushi anywhere else in the area. The freshest sushi, sushi Michael is wonderful, the sweetest staff (the kind of place where they remember ur name and what u like to eat) and hands down the BEST eggrolls Ive ever had coast to coast. Never been disappointed. Wonderful!!
