Amazing 60-year institution in Martin County which I am proud to be affiliated with as a volunteer for over 5 years! The dedication to the mission and the level of compassion shown to each and every animal that enters the doors of this 100% open access shelter is unmatched in my opinion! I have adopted two dogs from this humane society, both of which were "throw away" animals, one found as a weak and sickly stray, and one abandoned by her owners after 8 years. Based on what I've heard from someone who worked at this location, the image on the top of this facebook page should have photos of dead animals instead of live ones.
This Humane Society is not just warehousing animals who are stray or given up by their families...they provide nurturing of the best kind, rehabilitation, compassion and kindness to the fur friends who come there. Dedicated to those who can not speak for themselves. True humanitarians. God Bless you all.
