A pediatric gastroenterologist in Buffalo wouldn't see my son until five weeks out. Our pediatrician referred us to Dr. Hashmi on a Friday. We were in Dr. Hashmi's office the following Monday. Dr. Hashmi listened to my son and me, pressed on my son's stomach and said, "You are full of poop." Dr. Hashmi ordered him to clean out, have an x-ray, take MiraLax and increase fiber in his diet. We saw Dr. Hashmi as our infant had a dairy allergy until he grew out of it at 1 year. She is very straightforward with information, she listened to our concerns, and bedside manner was incredible. Our infant was always happy to see her and interact with her. Don’t be turned away by the nurses as they are NOT as friendly as the doctors. (We almost were) They need some training in human interaction...
My daughter was violently ill and never stopped crying, finally after labs X-ray and ultrasound we got referred to gastroenterologist. We called URMC and the wait was 6 weeks! She is always really nice and welcoming to all of her patients. She is very thorough and takes as long as you need in an appointment. If there is ever any issue you can always contact her and she will get back to you in a timely manor. She will always guide you in the decisions you need to make. She is overall a very good doctor.
She has been a wonderful Dr and has been there every step of the way as we overcame reflux & a dairy/soy intolerance with our daughter.

Dr. Hashmi truly takes the time to fully understand the scope of the patient's problems and she ensures that the patient understands all plans for treatment/management. She ensures that your concerns are heard & valued and conveys the perspective that patient healing is accomplished through patient-doctor teamwork.
We love Dr Hashmi! She took care of my set of twins as if they were her own children. We recently "graduated" from the practice and we will truly miss her and her pleasant staff. She is the top pediatric gastro in the WNY area.
