“Once you come in you always come back” I lost my teenage years to their locked programs. Paper thin gym mats with urine stained frames for a bed. Unhealthy amounts of isolation, the lies and confusion that they put youth through causing even more damage, the “calm down room” was quite literally a padded room with concrete floors that they lock you in. I was there in c7 in the 70s ,and the abuse was horrendous,and the staff used drugs and drank alcohol on camping trips ,locked kids,including myself in rooms with ,nothing but pj's,,, denied family visits ,hit me on the back of my head,for ot getting homework done forcing me to eat soup for a week for not finishing my dinner ,which was gross and I was literally throwing up.C7 is basically a jail ,and you have no rights ,other kids bulking others and staff laughing at them ,,,smoking in the glassed off office ,not letting you... read more
I was a client there in the 1980s, what an awful place 😱😔 1980 to 1985 alot of rough stuff going on in there I was treated like an animal by certain staff in cottages one and seven, the other kids there were bullies. I went there once about 20 years ago to visit the few staff who were friendly to me, but when I visited cottage one, I was treated like a troubled kid and not a mature adult. I'm 16 years old now I was 15 at the time I was sent I had no respect when going in being a sexual assault victim they put me in a room with a staff member I did not feel comfortable with my feelings were not taken enlightenment of and putting me through more trauma they were hands on and didn't listen to me when I told them about my triggers on mutable different days I would be placed with a guy staff after telling the workers I was not able to be around them I have ptsd from that place and still have nightmares about the d... read more
