SECOND UPDATE: AND THEY SHUT DOWN AGAIN????? Update: Second trip to Hugo's was a definite hit! Service was great. New kitchen staff prepared my food perfectly and with a pleasant atmosphere. Great changes made and I'll be back! Grand reopening: There were several dirty tables the waitresses couldn't keep up with and a very loud kitchen staff that made conversation with my friend difficult. My patty melt and fries didn't impress.
Unfortunately everything Rebecca said in her review was accurate based off our experience today. We used to love Hugo’s! But today, we sat at a table, and you could tell the 2 waitresses were already struggling with only a handful of people at tables. Saw the owner apologizing to an elder couple, a younger couple left with meal comped. The younger waitress was doing her best to keep her composure and was so kind. Took our order, got our drinks. My family has been Hugo's customers for 8 years now. We were sad to see the previous owners closed, great atmosphere, always great service, priced excellent with huge portions to never disappoint. Recently excited to see it opened again.. We went one week ago when my dad was in town, saw most familiar faces, new owner at the front desk, didn't seen helpful, no smiles or welcome you in.
