Unfortunately, Hudson River Athletics was a big letdown. The membership rates are outrageously overpriced for what you actually get, most of the equipment is outdated and worn down, and the programming lacks creativity or variety. It feels like the same workouts recycled over and over. The community vibe is cold and unwelcoming. It’s very cliquey, and if you’re new or younger, don’t expect to feel included. I was a member here for 6 years. This was by far the best gym I’ve trained at. The coaches prioritized proper technique and took the time to teach, not just instruct. The community was strong and supportive without being too performative. Most of the workouts are very fun. Since moving, I haven’t found another gym that measures up in quality or atmosphere.
