I won't recommend the 39 hours trip. The company is greedy: we got 2 mates to take care of the whole boat, so when you needed a line, for example, you have to wait. We spent as much time waiting as we did fishing, if no more. They book so many people in the trip, that we were like sardines. So every time somebody caught a fish, lines got tangled and etc. since we were all too close to each other. That said, the food was good and the staff nice. But I won't use this company again.
I took my son on his birthday cause the kid is addicted to fishing. I've heard nothing but good reviews on Hubbards. So booked my trip with them. From checking in with the ladies to cleaning my fish after the trip. It was nothing but a 5 star experience. Despite rough waters. The Captain and crew were certain to put us on some fish. I had gotten a little sea sick and had to take a break and witnessed how courteous the Captain and crew were by seeing them helping and hooking up some fish for the young kids on board. The crew was AWESOME,the only problem we noticed was at the end when people were getting their fish,their was confusion with the number they thought was their's, maybe handout a clothespin with a number on it,just a suggestion.
Fantastic time yesterday on the half day trip. Only complaint is not all of my fish were put on my stringer. Mates went by and grabbed several fish at once, which I understand. I caught 2 Black Sea bass that were kept but were not on my stringer at the end of the day. Probably put on another stringer by accident but sure would have liked to have had them.
This was our first deep sea fishing experience and we thought the crew was helpful, hospitable and made the trip fun. Would recommend it to anyone. Thanks to Dusty and Smokey for taking care of us!
I have fished with hubbards before but I just went on the 39 hr trip and had a blast. Capt Garrett knows how to put you on fish. The mates Will and John were both absolutely great, friendly and helpful. Tammy in the galley is truly a very sweet lady and couldn't have been more nice and she can sure cook up some good grub. I will definitely be going back again soon! The whole operation is top notch.
My husband and I are on vacation in Madeira Beach. I have never been deep sea fishing before but my husband has in the past... we decided to do the 1/2 day fishing trip for Valentines Day... We caught enough Grey Snapper for us to have for dinner... We definitely go with Hubbard again... All of the crew were fantastic, very helpful and patient...
Had a great time ! Amazing to see a dolphin jumping along side the boat and an incredible sunset .
