I had various things fixed in my Brooklyn apartment on three separate visits from two different Hub plumbers, one a young Polish guy and one guy named Ansel. They did a great job fixing the tub, one toilet, bathroom and kitchen sinks, but the only problem is every time they left I noticed stuff was missing. RUN AWAY! I engaged HUB plumbing to replace TWO of my furnaces in December 2011. These furnaces have not been fully functional until October of 2011. This, however, I accepted and is not the nature of my complaint. I had, in the interim, further contracted them to install a 3rd furnace in a tenant's apartment. AC Masters! – My condenser kicked out the first day it got hot. Mike Palmer came over, and I guess they were a bit slow, but good for me! The condenser was ordered as Mike started disconnecting the old one, and was there in, I'm going to say, 45 minutes. Some other guys took the old one away, and Mike had the new one up and running by day's end. All said and done, $1500. It wasn't the first thing I wanted to spend $1500 bucks on, but it had to be done, and he did a great job. Thanks folks!
If you do not know anything about plumbing(caution). – Called Hub Plumbing to come over to get an estimate on changing two faucets and while they were here to change the toilet seat. First there is a charge to come to give est. and they would apply the cost if you agree to have them do the work. Well just to install a two bolt toilet seat that cost at home depot $19.00 to $30.00 was $400.oo. The two faucets to be installed came to $1600.00. Good Job, sexy plumber – I had those guys come over last week for a kind of big job in my place, having a large apartment in Manhattan I m used to the fact that everything cost a lot when I call for any kind of service. I thought their price was reasonable specially after seeing how much it took to fix the problem, not sure they realized that at the beginning. do not walk away, RUN! – I tried to not give any stars but this system makes you give at least one, but I give them Negative -10 stars(aka this company sucks) These people charged my 93 year old aunt $1,700 for a hot water heater. A $500 job at best. And they put her off all day and showed up at 11:00 at night. Do not beleive the phony reviews he is posting for himself. Are you out of your mind? A water heater itself can cost anywhere from 500$-$1500 for a residential unit, depending on the size. You show me where you can get a water heater done for $500. We showed up at 11:00 BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T ANSWER THE PHONE ALL DAY LONG. 2 Year old company? Check the Department of Buildings. We're incorporated in 2001 you schmuck. You're welcome, by the way.
Hub plumbing – I had Hub Plumbing & Mechanical come out last Saturday to deal with the heat being off on my mom’s place. She is elderly and the house was freezing. Within two hours, John was there, and quickly diagnosed the problem. Turns out it was an electrical problem on one of the controls caused by a leak. He was able to fix both issues quickly, and politely. He even wore boot covers over his shoes so as not to track a hundred pounds of snow in. Would definitely use him again.
Excellent Firm – In response to the other review, we were the only response that he got. We did not coerce him to hire us, and he seemed happy at the time of service. I wonder why he waited until we left to publish a review on Citysearch to the contrary? Strange.
Worst Plumber - $376/hr – I run 17 properties in Boston and am disgusted with Hub Plumbing. All of my go-to plumbers were out of town for Columbus Day weekend and I had to find a replacement for a water leak. I had a plumber come out from Hub Plumbing and was quoted $376 for one hour of labor to repair a copper pipe. Instead of giving you an hourly rate or a minimum job price over the phone, Hub Plumbing waits until they get to your property to give you a quote and hopes you pay it since they are already there! Next time, try calling the plumber that DOESN"T ANSWER THE PHONE on a holiday weekend, and leave my company alone.
