Never not good! The bartender Cole is legit. Some of the most unique and delicious cocktails in Utah. Most recently tried the gin cocktail, which is made with broth. Delish. Been going here for years. The seasonal menu and cocktails always make for a nice refresh. Cauliflower, pork shank, fried chicken, biscuits, mushrooms, hamachi, any of the cocktails. Anything on the menu is delish. Service is great. Wine menu is solid. Usually can swing in and can get bar seating without reservations.
Parking was pretty easy, but it was a Thursday night. It was a business dinner and we walked right in with our reservation. The food was good. I had the steak which was cooked slightly more raw than I like. The portion sizes of the individual ingredients were a bit small, but they filled the plate.
Our server, Sam, at HSL was exceptional. He made us feel welcome right away and guided us through the menu in a way that was both helpful and entertaining. His stories about flavor selection and liquor brands added so much to the experience. He was fun, professional, and approachable, and every recommendation he made was spot-on. Truly the best meal and dining experience I’ve ever had.
Love this place, but ever since Michelin announced they were coming, they went all fancy with their presentation with all these greens and flowers. Like sweetheart, we loved you before. Don’t try and go for a star. You already have a good reputation locally.
