We used H and R block online for years without any problems, but this year we decided to use the tax pro to review our taxes, the tax pro really screwed up our state tax, instead of getting a small refund we suddenly owed some money, we had such a hard time to get any response from that person, for weeks we tried to get it fixed without any luck, we even get hold of an office manager and thought that would help, but still not fixed, now at some point we will have to send an amended tax form on our own to fix the problem, I t... read more

I was under the impression that free meant free. Not so. They "file" for free but charge a lot for the so-called processing. That seems to be false advertising. I'm very unhappy.

My paperwork was incorrect specifically my direct deposit information. My bank info was not listed so I called back and had to leave a message because the agent was busy and I never received a call back. I went back to the office and was told I had to schedule an appointment. I never received my refund due to their error and the agent *********************** was in willing to help. He also messed up my family members taxes as well. I will never use H&R Block again

Two wordsnever again. I paid an outrageous amount to H&R Block to file my taxes. My first concern was when the lady called me to let me know she finished my taxes for me to approve and apologized because it had been a while since shes done this. I called H&R Block corporate office to gain an understanding of why I owed so much to H&R Block. They couldnt explain it or figure out why and suggested I call the lady who did my taxes so I could share my frustrations with her in order to feel better. I tried to use HR Block Deluxe 2022 tax software to prepare and eFile my taxes. Federal prep and filing went OK, but CA was a disaster. Somewhere in the development chain, from Product Requirements Doc (assuming their even was one), through to QA (again, assuming there was any), one or more H&R Block employees (or, more likely, contract software developers or contract CPAs) did seriously sloppy jobs.The software review initially flagged a problem, but the description of the problem and the list of steps to solve it, were uni... read more

The sign on the door stated "*************". My wife and I entered and there were no people in the waiting area. The employee behind the counter asked if we had an appointment. I told her that we would wait. I was told that we could make an appointment for three days from now or drop off my paperwork and we would be called when it was ready. I told her that, because of health issues, it was very difficult to get out. It made no difference. I wound up leaving my papers. I've paid almost $300 on fees for HR Block to pay for chat support and a tax pro. However, it's been impossible for me to sign my returns and I've been trying to for the past 10 days. My spouse try to approve them, exceeded the limit for number of attempts and since, we have not been able to sign them. It just says to contact system administrator but we've spent hours on the phone without anyone helping at all I cannot access the chat which I'VE PAID FOR. Worst service ever

Major glitches in the software and the inability to file my state. Incorrect information was also imported from the previous years. Their customer support is non existent and unconscionably bad and dangerous. The errors in their software can get you in trouble with the *** It has been over 8 hours over the past few days and counting and still no help. They ensured us after a computer system glitched that the charges didn't go through. So they deleted them and re-charged everything. Then a couple days later both charged occurrences go through the bank. We call the company. They tell us when they look at the system it only shows the one only.
