They messed up my tax return for 2019 so bad that the IRS is now rejecting my 2020 return. They not only told the IRS that I had insurance through the marketplace (when I didnt) they also misspelled my name. How can you call yourselves a reliable tax service when you can't even spell a person's name right.
Communication with this company is non existed after you file your taxes. I sent message after message and it took me calling the office building to get someone to respond. This has been the worst experience I have had.
Dont use them they lie to you about their services. They tell you that you will have access to previous years and doesnt give you anything. Call the number and spend HOURS on hold!!! i wish i could rate lower than one star!!!
The H and R Block 2020 Tax Software combines the social security tax that my wife and I paid and is incorrectly applying a tax credit in the amount over $8537 (wage cap amount) of our COMBINED social security tax payments. This is obviously incorrect and if I file my return I'm committing a federal crime. H and R Block's stance is that this is correct tax law application. What a company. Was charged twice to download the software. Never received the software. On hold 3.5 hours to be hung up on. Called next day was on hold over an hour and was told charges were not showing on their system so they cannot refund my money. They told me to call back the next day to try again. Money has been deducted from my accounts for nothing. Have used this software for 20 years. Will be using another software henceforth.
I was tying to assist my son with his taxes as he is working 12-14 hrs a night right now I dropped off his W2 form at the H & R block in Great Bend KS I explained that I was dropping this form off for my son and that when his taxes were done I would be the one picking them back up. the tax preparer did not say anything at the time, she took my name and number. when they were done they called me said we needed to schedule an appointment this is when everything started to go sideways. IF I COULD GIVE H&R Block NO stars, I would. How I wish I had read all these reviews prior to purchasing the download software this year. HELP is disgusting. I have been on hold today, 2/8/2021, for approximately ONE HOUR AND 25 minutes and still saying "your wait time is..." DO NOT BUY THE DOWNLOADABLE SOFTWARE. An employee at H & R Block made an error when originally filling out my tax paperwork. I signed a ‘Peace of Mind’ agreement. I have been working with the company for over 2 months to make good on their agreement and amend the return. I delayed writing this letter as each time I have gotten back to H & R Block, there has been some assurance that the matter is being looked into, moving through the proper channels. I have used the software product for years but found an issue with the file this year. After hours of attempted contact with both the support phone number and the online chat, being hung up on and dropped while in que, it's clear this company has misleading advertising and little to no support for the customers needing help.
