I spoke to a person who identified herself as the manager. She refused to honor a $25 gift certificate for returning customers, and was exceedingly rude to me, hanging up in the middle of the conversation, and refused to take my calls afterwards. The employees would not give me her name.
I had a appointment with H & R Block to file my taxes. I explained to the senior tax analyst, at the Highway 96, Franklin, TN office, that I had previous tried to file online and was unsure of the result I received stating I owed money this year, and in previous years I always received a refund, so I wanted a professional to make sure it was correct before I filed. All they care about is getting their fees. They don't care about trying to get your max refund or trying to get you any tax breaks or write offs. I don't think they train their employees well at all. It is never easy to get ahold of anyone on the customer service line and when you finally do they give you the run around our say they have to transfer you too another department only for the same thing to happen again. You will be better off using an online service or learning to do it yourself.
This was the most HORRIBLE experience i've had with a company maybe ever. I hired Delia online to do my taxes and she was responsive for the most part for about a week or two and I sent her my documents. After about a few messages I continued to message her in order to ensure that my taxes were going to be done properly and she did not ever respond to me again. I will never use H&R again. I filed with them 6 weeks ago and IRS still doesn't have and I can't get anyone on phone to help.
My tax specialist in office was amazing. She was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Unfortunately I could not say the same for the their corporation. I filed February 1st and was told I’d receive it 21 days after filing. March 5th was their promise date. When I did not receive anything I had to call and talk to 6 different people and no one knew why. I kept getting transferred and was on hold for 2 hours just to be hung up on. Normally I would file my own taxes but with two daughters in college I wanted to be sure that everything was documented correctly. I trusted H & R Block Advisors in Andover, MA. I was first quoted between $150 - $195 but once the advisor finished and told me the cost would be $350. This was a pretty simple return, the tax advisor apologized and explained this was not his pricing but controlled by H&R Block. UnSolicited Spam/ Marketing is Unacceptable. This business practice is Shady and any corporation that Does not have a way to Opt Out via any online account is Wrong. One is Only aware of this Issue when one gets this Unwanted Spam! It should be Unacceptable that my PII data is Sucked into a Vortex of a database for the sole purpose of Exploitation. The last three years I have used their online free software since I make well below the minimum amount necessary. This year I went ahead and chose to use them again under the same free system that they advertised before, except everything as far as fees and hidden charges we're riddled throughout. Last year I was able to claim all the regular deductions and even had to file multiple States and it was all listed as free, and was true to it's word.
