I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Haverty! He takes the time with his patients and thoroughly explains his knowledge of your condition. He has made sure to personally follow up with me on testing results ( even after business hours). He works hard to make to ensure his patients receive the care they need and takes notice in the frustrations his patients face with the rising cost of the drugs we need to maintain our disease. His compassion and ability to communicate great news and when you have cancer. I trust him explicitly.
My farther was a patient of haverty he has way to many patients,does not explain anything and no social skills family stayed confused and would not recommend him to anyone
Every staff member I spoke with was professional, friendly and courteous. Dr Haverty was, as always, very thorough in his explanations. I did not feel rushed. I have a very complicated and rare medical history. Few of my doctors have ever even heard of my diagnosis. Despite the fact it is a neurological problem, Dr Haverty is very knowledgeable about it. Dr. Haverty was the GI in the hospital when I had a severe case of ulcerative colitis, he gave me lots of resources on how to deal with what I was going through, and how to better manage my illness once I was out of the hospital. I now have him as my regular GI, he takes time to listen and also explain things so that I can understand my symptoms better. His office staff also answer questions and send forms and prescriptions off in a timely manner.
Dr Haverty was very patient and professional. Very easy to talk to and explained everything so I could understand. Great bedside manner and highly recommend this provider
He has a conservative style and doesn’t rush into things without having all the facts/information needed. His bedside manner is what I cherish the most. As his care for his patients is top notch. Also, he is not afraid to refer out if he needs more help which is something some doctors don’t like to do or admit in my opinion haven seen many of them. The only downside is it can be hard to get a quick appointment with him given his patient load.
I have seen Dr Haverty for years. The last couple times he seemed to be at best "scattered" at worst just too busy to keep up with his patients. Not only did he pull up the wrong patient information while talking to me, when he did get to me there was information in my file that did not belong to me.
Went to Dr. Haverty with Gastro issues that could not be diagnosed by numerous other medical specialists. He was persistant and passionate in pursuing my pain symptoms that had nagged me for 7 months. Through a series of tests not run by other doctors, he diagnosed insufficient bile flow from my gall bladder and had it removed. He is God's gift to the GI profession in the Richmond area.
