Friendly staff, Room was clean and even thou its an old building the room is nicely updated. Beds were comfy. We enjoyed our ocean view and having a private patio was a plus. It was just the right spot to walk to beach, wharf or boardwalk.

Rooms were clean but bed sheets and towels were not clean. There was something sharp inside the bed sheets. Breakfast was good and staff was friendly.

My husband and I came to Santa Cruz to celebrate our anniversary, and desired a hotel by the ocean. Boy, were we excited to see just how close this hotel is to not only the boardwalk and the wharf, but to several restaurants as well. They are all within short walking distances. We were so pleased with the welcome that we got at the front desk when we checked in. Our room was just perfect - a little dated, but not too bad. The establishment is very clean, and perfectly located.

Do not be fooled by the photos — this place is a total scam. I booked this hotel thinking I’d get a cozy stay with a jetted tub, free breakfast, and decent amenities near the wharf. What I got instead was a filthy, misleading, and uncomfortable experience that felt more like a punishment than a vacation. Let’s start with the jetted tub — or lack thereof.
