Started seeing Dr Howard Perell for eye exam as former eye Doctor was retiring ,Started seeing him around 2014 or 015, He told me I had Cataracts at that time,On May 9 2017 he told me I had to have surgery to remove the Cataracts left eye first,wanted to set surgery date for October ,Told him I wasn't really keen on having any surgery as I've never had surgery at any time in my life,I continue to see him,Then on October 5th he told me I really had to have the surgery and wanted to set it up to have it done in October,Told hi... read more
Dr Perell did cataract surgery on both my eyes in 2017.When he did the second one I lost the sight in my right eye,He reminded me that the good Lord gives us two legs,two arms,2 kidneys----- that so we can survive living with one,He also had brought his son in telling me he was born with a bad eye & has done quite well for him self with only one eye,He had been treating my husband as well & was pushing him to have Cataract surgery in October,My husband told him he wasn't ready Perell told him if not then he wouldn't have ano... read more
Dr. Perell tried putting me on glaucoma drops and has been telling me for years my pressures were high. After a 2nd opinion, it was determined they are fine and no medicine is required. He also did two procedures that were probably never needed as well. It's very concerning this Dr. is treating patients and improperly diagnosing them.
After he diagnosed me, i asked his assistant how long i would need the medicine. He returned to chastise me by suggesting that it is very common for people like me to have glaucoma and if i don't want to take care of my eyes, that is my problem. There was no follow-up! Almost 5 years and 2 second opinions later, i still have NO SIGNS OF GLAUCOMA!!!!!! I felt as if he only wants a specific type of patient.
Dr Perell is a very caring, friendly doctor. He and his staff explain all procedures all of the time. Very thorough examines.
