This is my seventh time coming here - it’s not as crazy expensive either. I loved getting my hair cut by Carina before she left! Now, I highly recommend Janet. She did a beautiful job cutting my hair (it looked perfect), she was meticulous, careful, took her time, and was lovely to talk to. This place is great — my go to when I need a haircut in nyc/brooklyn.

HAZEL SAVED MY HAIR !!! i’m new to nyc and i went looking for a hairstylist that could help me fix my poorly dyed, very dry and grown out hair. i drove all the way from washington heights to see Hazel because she reassured me she could get the job done and she did not disappoint ! i had so many concerns bc of my thin, curly hair and the bleach i had but she somehow color matched my hair perfectly! made it softer healthier AND thicker ! i seriously cannot recommend her enough.

Edit: I wrote this in November 2023 and they just now responded in mid 2025 lmao. I guess they are checking off their to-do list. I’m writing this review a month later because I went back and forth about posting it. Backstory of my hair: My hair was virgin hair but then professionally dyed red in May and then again in July by the same person at a different salon. I've always have a great experience at Hour Rose Salon. Last night I had my haircut by Hazel. She was very hospitable and did a great job cutting and styling my hair! I showed her three photos of what I was aiming for, and the final product came out just like the photos! Not easy to do for someone with fine and thin hair. Definitely would book with her again!
