The experience was so painful, stressful, unprofessional, expensive and cold. Late for appointments (>30min). The delivery was completely chaotic. I'm healthy, in late 20s, easy pregnancy, etc. Ended up with an infection, vacuuming baby and in the NICU for a week. Nurses were amazing. Dr and nurse communication poor - something about "needing to make me push for 3 hours before vacuum." Brought in stem cell collection box 2x to appointments; Dr said she knew what to do. Husband had to do did it.
Dr. Houpe is the best doctor I have ever had. She was my doctor for 4 years before I got pregnant and was great but to have her for my pregnancies was amazing. With my first pregnancy I had a miscarriage and she was so caring, considerate, answered every question, was so patient with me, and reassured me. Through an awful situation she completely comforted me. With the birth of my baby she took time for every appointment, was thorough, detailed, and persoblnable. Truely a doctor I trust!
I absolutely love Dr. Houpe. She delivered my first baby, and I am now driving over an hour to and from each visit to go to Circle of Life Women's Center to see her for my second. I completely trust her, and she has wonderful bedside manners. I can tell she truly cares about her patients. There may be times you have to wait, but I can tell you is definitely worth waiting. Dr. Houpe has personally called me before to discuss my concerns after office hours. Not a lot of doctors do that.
If you ever think you'll want/need to be seen urgently, this is likely not the practice for you; they will NOT see you same day, despite telling me they would when I chose them as my provider. Sure, they might be great people and great doctors, but what's the use if their business practices/policies mean they don't have time for patients when they need to be seen.
