We have Houk's Maintenance agreement for heat and AC. Two weeks ago on Wednesday, June 23 we called to say our AC wasn't working. They said the earliest they could come was MONDAY!! They came on Monday and said they fixed it. Cold air was coming out but the next day we realized that it never shut off. So we called again on Tuesday. The dispatcher said they couldn't come til Thursday. I said I was worried because it never turned off, and she said,"No worries". We purchased a house that had 2 Trane HVAC units installed by this company. First a fan motor went out on the outside unit. Fast forward to the summer and the AC is blowing hot air due to the compressor not kicking on. 1st visit, we needed a new transformer, that took a week to get. 2nd visit, new transformer installed, did not fix the issue, but found a shorted wire across a high voltage lead. 3rd visit, i had to force an emergency call, found a wire that had been pinched under the condenser case. We have the Houk maintenance program where they come out twice a year. We had our summer maintenance scheduled for May 6 but due to the heavy rains they rescheduled us to June 24. At the time I was very frustrated and commented that it didn't make sense pushing our summer preventative maintenance so far back. The whole point of the service is to tune the system up BEFORE the summer starts.
