The punch line of the old joke "how do you get to Carnegie Hall" is of course, "practice, practice, practice". But an easier way is to stay at the Wellington and just walk across the street. This Midtown hotel is convenient as well to Central Park, Fifth Avenue's great stores, Lincoln Center and many of America's corporate headquarters. The level of service is high, while the cost is relatively modest.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was small, but I guess the prices in NYC aren't like the suburbs. If you aren't there to spend time in the room, I would definitely recommend it. The coffee shop in the hotel was a bit pricey, $26 for 2 for breakfast. Location is pretty prime, close to subways and no problem getting a cab.
