I give this 5 stars in the context of Santa Cruz. It's a pretty well run well maintained hotel, kid friendly, dog friendly, adult friendly, but still has the Santa Cruz vibe :-)
I stayed here for 4 nights (Mar 19-23, 2026). Stayed on 4th floor with room on the pool side. Room was small but pleasant. Nice decor, hardwood type floors, comfy beds, etc. Staff was friendly and all was good! That was until Sunday afternoon. We came back from an outing and really wanted to relax and take a nap after a very hectic and exhausting week. We showed up with no reservation and the staff was very accommodating! We were just in town for the night so we didn't have the chance to enjoy all they had to offer but both the pool and the bar we busy, lively, but comfortable. Would absolutely stay here again!
Hotel looks to be okay. However do be aware of the overbooking practice here. It seems to be common practice here to oversell their rooms. While checking in, they just said there’s no rooms available and asked us to contact whatever services we used for booking and provided no further information or help. Staying at many hotels in the past, the common practice in the industry is to “walk” the overbooked guests to another comparable hotel. But it doesn’t seem to be the case here.
