We stayed at the Frederick Hotel for a night in August. Our one-queen room (room #5 on the hotel website) was cozy and comfortable. The renovated bathroom with rain shower was great. The owners preserved the hotel’s wonderful 120-year-old vibe, very woody. Exploring the building, you can imagine what it was like in its heyday. I'm sure the proprietor has poured their heart & soul into maintaining / updating the Hotel Frederick. However, even allowing for historical charm & quirkiness there are issues with the basic operation of a hotel that need to be addressed. The overhead fire protection piping in both of our rooms were woefully in need of a good dusting, with quite the layer having accumulated over time. This historic hotel has been updated in a vintage and eclectic way that adds to its charm and makes for a memorable experience. The lobby cat sets the tone for the friendly hospitality and unique vibe. They are bike friendly, with a convenient, first floor, large bike room with racks and power outlets.
