Hotel Florence is a charming building smack in the middle of downtown Florence. You cannot ask for a better location for the ballpark, racetrack, or performing arts Center. There is a nightclub across the street so if you are noise sensitive, ask for a room in the back of the hotel and you will not hear a thing. Another note, many of the rooms do not have curtains just shutters so if you are light sensitive please bring a blindfold. The rooms have a modern shake with some bare brick walls. It's a cozy hotel. The town you'd think you were in Mayberry.
Parking is a challenge due to being near the police station and shops downtown during the day. Night time parking close to the weekend is the same, had to circle the block. There is a least one club in the same block as the hotel across the street. Other than that, VERY NICE.
Stayed here a few years ago. The heater didn't work and the coffee maker didn't work. Staff was slow in replacement of coffee maker and nothing was done about the heater. Also at the time of checking in, the downtown area where the hotel was located, was being raided by a local gang. Think twice.
