My partner and I took a short trip to SF to see a play at ACT's Strand Theater last weekend. We chose Hotel Fiona for location, price, and its good reviews online. We found it exceeded our expectations! The room was spacious and spotless, with windows that open. The hotel has historic features, but nothing is tired or run down. HORRIBLE MOTEL!!! SCAM!!! Don't STAY HERE!!! I tried to get a room here for one night and the extremely rude staff told me there would be a $300 deposit. I refuse the insanely inflated price and try to get a refund, which they denied. No where on their website or the travel app Booketta did it say a deposit for $300. It's a shitty motel. $300..??? I wonder how many times they've done this to travelers. Complete scam artists!!
A very pleasant stay. The room was spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable. The hallways were somewhat noisy with folks who forget to use quiet indoor voices and doors that autoshut (as required) with a solid bang. The neighborhood street was a bit noisy during early evening hours but didnt impact sleep. The staff was cheerful and helpful. The location was 2 blocks from the BART and the ACT Theatre, and just a block from the courthouses. Excellent value for the city and I would not hesitate to stay here again.
I got to the hotel a couple of days late due to flight cancellation. I was advised that my reservation was cancelled and I need to make a new reservation. Having received assurance that I'll be refunded for most of my original reservation, I was ok with making a new reservation. However, later on Hotel Fiona refused to refund me!
