What a great place! If you enjoy experiences that are out of the ordinary, you will love this. Reminiscent of the Panama Hotel in Seattle (read the book, "Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet"). This is the best location for proximity to Yale University, great restaurants and bars, theatre, museums, etc. The staff is courteous and they are right there at the desk 24/7. We have been staying here for the last 4 years while our son was a student at Yale. If you want a typical high priced hotel that is just like every other h... read more

Don't Sleep Here !!!! – Learn from my experience, do not rent a room here. First of all, there is no place for parking. You would think the owners of this establishment would have some sort of an agreement with the parking garage near them but they don't. You'll have to bring a bag full of quarters to feed the parking meters and there's only a 2 hour limit with that. The place has a morbid and desolate feeling in the lobby. I don't know how that elevator even pass state inspection. The rooms smell, that bathroom was atrociou... read more

An Experience – I'm sure many people in the world would appreciate the Hotel Duncan, however, if you haven't recently escaped from a refugee camp, you probably won't be one of them. Let's just say cleanliness and quality don't appear to be high on their list (I'm sure the carpeting was clean once, and the hair in the bathroom - well I guess it shows that he/she/it? was clean). If you want to get a feel for the nightlife Hotel Duncan is great, since the shades in the room have one position (and that isn't closed). If you want... read more

horrible rude staff – I heard a ton of bad things about this place but because of the location I thought I will give it a try. I called them to make a reservation. The person who picked up was so rude insulting and unhelpful, it was hard to believe. Its like they have no training in customer service and not even general etiquette. Changed my mind immediately, I decided to spend $50 more per night but stay in a place which respected and valued their customers. Duncan is worst hotel choice in the area!

An Eccentric Hotel – The Duncan is an eccentric hotel located downtown on Chapel St. There are many restaurants and small shops nearby. There is a well reviewed Thai restaurant in the basement.
