Sorry to rate my rating but true. First the rooms are very small but nice and clean the coffee maker is a pain you have to pull it out from self unit to use not our cup of tea to have to move it to use it. Next the shower head was not working reported to front desk reply was I will tell maintance but that did not help us. Eat somewhere else not at the hotel it will cost you your arm and legs. You can do better at another hotel.

Let me begin by saying that I love a boutique hotel. We were looking forward to staying in this one on our drive back to NC from Chicago. Our experience was lack luster at best. The hotel aesthetics are nice, the staff is friendly, and the shower pressure is solid. The waitstaff in the restaurant were professional and engaging. The food was okay- not great. Finding earplugs on the nightstand was a red flag. The AC was so loud that it felt like trying to sleep in a wind tunnel.

Bottom line: to management, "well done" restoring an underused/unrestored historic building and bringing it back to life. Location? If you are visiting the historic Victoria theatre directly across the street or the Schuster Performing Arts Center next door, it doesn't get any better. Period. Drop the mic. Side note: Starbucks is next door in the Schuster Center. IF you need a clean, safe, reasonably priced, new, place to stay for a night or two, this hotel fits the bill.
