Did good job in a timely manner! Would have the staff smile more!!
This is for the ECT Therapy department. Specifically one employee…I was there not long ago accompanying someone who was getting an ECT treatment. Everything went very smooth and everyone was very nice to me and the patient, at least to my face, so for that I’m very grateful!! They rolled the patient back to get the treatment and I remained in the waiting bay. Mind you, this was my FIRST time accompanying someone for this treatment. My daughter attends HPU and was sent to HPMC ER by urgent care. I was extremely impressed by her care received in ED. Dr. M Hooven spoke with me by phone as I raced to get there as a concerned Mom. The staff was pleasant, educated, and efficient. Dr Hooven exhibits beautiful bedside manner and is extremely knowledgeable. He ordered all needed test and set up referrals STAT for next day follow up. I am an RN myself and very impressed at the care we received from this ED. Gold star Dr Hooven and staff! Tonight I was told by security of this hospital that I was not allowed to visit a family member in ICU who is in dire condition because "visiting hours were over at 8pm". I was told that the nurse in the unit is the one who said I couldn't come up to visit my family member. When family who were already inside questioned this decision/policy based on the situation, they were told by the nurse "its not our decision, its upper management's."
