Choose another hospice facility. They left us alone when we needed them the most. In may mother's last hours they refused to send a nurse and send us to hospital instead. I had to beg for her comfort meds, nurses said different stories and they don't communicate. Sometimes they didn't show up at all. They didn't even send chaplain to pray with us, i fact he didn't show up in the last week. Instead of peace the whole situation was stressful. My mom was in a nursing home, and suddenly experienced breathing problems. My mom was a DNR patient, so the facility put her on oxygen. Mom had severe dementia and Alzheimer’s. There wasn’t anything they could have done for her if she continues to have a problem breathing on her own. I decided it was time to contact hospice.
