My Grandma had Hospice as an inpatient in the hospital.. it’s a very hard decision as a family to make.. but my family did to provide my Grandma the comfort and care she needed. I was nurse at the time, not working in hospice. I can tell you that as a nurse that experience about hospice changed my opinion forever. This company is now called Uplifted Care Hospice from Kankakee. If I could give zero stars, I would. Would not recommend them or their services as we were very disappointed with how they “cared” for our beloved mom in her final days. My mom was in their “care” for at home hospice services for the past four weeks. At first they started off good, getting her home and settled in, scheduled social worker, chaplain, CNA, and nurse visits but things went down hill quickly in terms of providing care and services. Hospice is not an easy decision for a loved one. It means knowing the end is near and of course wanting the best care for them. I can't express enough thanks to the team that took care of my father. What a tremendous group of people. My father was an in-patient at a hospital and the care and comfort he received was beyond words. The entire team was not only there for my father, but for all of us. It takes special kinds of people to work in Hospice care, and believe me, they are special.
